Adopted children and townies always seem to get one of the 12 default personalities in Create a Sim. A baby's personality is not visible in-game, but can be viewed with SimPE. A neglected baby might be more mean-spirited, even if both parents are nice, for example. It is also affected by how the child was raised as a baby. In The Sims 2, the personality of children born in-game is based on the parents' personalities, though there is a random element involved twins may have different personalities. Most townies get random personality points, though they may not receive them until they first appear in-game. There were varying reports as to how (and whether) the parents' personalities affected the child's. In The Sims, children get personality points when they grow up from being babies. In The Sims 3, the personality points system was replaced with traits, which was reused in The Sims Medieval and The Sims 4. ![]() In The Sims 2, low is generally less than 4 or 5, and high is generally 8 (or 8.01) and above. The Sims 2 does not use the labels or descriptions, but personality scales can be divided into low, medium, and high. Personality has much more effect on a Sim's nature in The Sims 2. Still, in The Sims, this has relatively little effect on the nature of the Sim. The descriptions are largely for "color", but do give some hints to the Sim's character. In The Sims, each section is split into three parts 0-2, 3-7, and 8-10, each of which has a name and a description. How fractional points are handled appears to depend on the game, and possibly the scale). Also, spore-grown PlantSims will inherit their spore-parent's personality, but will have a different zodiac sign.Įach section uses a zero-to-ten scale (from a game-mechanics perspective, the scale is actually 0 to 10.00. If a Sim's personality is altered without using cheats, his or her zodiac sign will not change. It is normally related to a Sim's zodiac sign, but there are exceptions. In both The Sims and The Sims 2, personality is split into 5 sections: niceness, neatness or cleanliness, outgoingness, activeness, and playfulness. Households with multiple adult Sims should also get better bonuses to starting Simoleons than the measly ten percent bonus they get in right now in 4 afterall when people move in together as roommates or lovers or whatever they tend to pool their funds to pay the bills.Sims with 8 or more playful points can play in a bathtub. Once again, characters starting later in life should get some boost to represent that they didn't just pop out of the ether as a 30+ year old (even though they technically did). Starting Simoleons also needs to be adjusted. Just make it so that skill and career levels granted by CC are slightly behind those that a well-played Sim might have if they had been manually played to that life stage to that to prevent abuse. I don't see why the Sims couldn't and shouldn't do that as well so that, for example, a middle-aged character with a family doesn't start at the same level of experience as a single young adult straight out of high school. Or at least the most fair in terms of the game.Īny PnP roleplaying game worth its salt will give players options (assuming the GM agrees) to adjust skills, abilities, possessions, etc as appropriate to their age and relative levels of experience. They should start in the mid-way point because assuming age, that is probably where they would be. ![]() Also if a Sim is an Elder one would think they would have some skills already learned.Ĭareer Tracks (Mostly as applied to Elders) I think that Careers should be able to be chosen for Elders in CAS. Considering the amount of skills to choose from even the 14 for elders isn't a lot so it won't give an unreasonable advantage. Any Sim created in CAS should have a set number of skill points to start with. What annoyed me in TS2 was that every sim you created as an adult automatically had a memory of their first kiss with someone, when in reality not everyone experiences that kind of thing in their youth, or at all.ġ. ![]() I know it will never happen, though.Īlso, if they ever add a memory system to the game, I would like to be able to customise the memories of the sims I make in CAS. Yes, they were rather useless in the past, but I can think of many ways they could be implemented in a more meaningful way. Zodiac signs, as mentioned in the original post. I hear adults in TS3 had five, so why do TS4 adults only have three + one bonus trait related to their aspiration? Jackets and vests that can be put on over a simple top of your choice rather than coming with their own. Various degrees of stubble that can be put on separately from real beards. There's five things I miss in CAS as it is now:
